Shanna J. Palmersheim

I am the Managing Member of the firm and have been advising families, businesses and non-profits for over 10 years.

Prior to founding the firm, I practiced law in the Chicago area as Vice President and Senior Legal Counsel working with such firms as Harley-Davidson Financial Services, The Northern Trust Company and Harbor Capital Advisors.  During that time, my law practice focused primarily in the areas of securities regulation (mutual funds, commodity pools, collective investment trusts and private funds), trusts and estates, corporate law, banking and finance, employment law and trademarks and copyrights.  In 2010, I was published in the Mutual Fund Service Guide with an article analyzing recent changes to money market mutual funds.

From 2008-2014, I was on the Board of Directors of Amate House, a Chicago-area non-profit with annual revenue of nearly $1 million, serving in the roles of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair.  I have also provided pro bono legal services in the area of real estate and probate with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services.

I attended law school at the University of Iowa College of Law where I received the Willard Boyd Service Distinction Highest Honors and was the Treasurer of the Iowa Student Bar Association.  Prior to law school, I was a Senior Accountant with State Street Bank.  I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Business Administration.
